Dallas Children’s Theater Comes to Lufkin – Sat. Feb 1, noon

LUFKIN, TX. Cheer STUART LITTLE on as he discovers the true meaning of family, loyalty, and friendship. The much loved children’s story, STUART LITTLE family matinee, comes to Temple Theater on Saturday, February 1, at 12:00 pm / noon. Ideal for ages 4-9, yet loved by all, this classic tale is based on the book by E.B. White. Family Matinee tickets for the hour-long show are $5 for kids and $10 for grown-ups. Presented by Angelina Arts Alliance, STUART LITTLE is the last matinee of the 2013-2014 Family Matinee Series, which is sponsored by The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy and Jordan Family Dentistry. 2013-14 Season Sponsors are Lufkin Industries, Inc. and Memorial Health System of East Texas.

STUART LITTLE is a charming story which proves that great things can come in small packages. Dallas Children’s Theater performs this smart adaptation that sweeps young theatergoers up in the trials and tribulations of Stuart as he travels from New York, across the country, in search of the bird that saved his life. The book STUART LITTLE has proved to be so popular, it was produced as a movie, made available on DVD, and now, can be seen live – on stage. Lufkin Boys and Girls Club received a block of tickets through a community wide promotion called ‘Buy One – Give-One’. Also, see the entries in the first ever Arts Alliance Coloring Contest, open to pre-k through third graders hanging in the lobby of the Temple Theater. Judges include Robbie Roach, Angelina College Fine Arts Instructor and Gallery Curator, and Ann Reyes, Museum of East Texas Curator of Education. Winners will be announced and ribbons and prizes awarded from the stage before the show starts.
